MEA Mining Engineering undergraduate program

While undergraduate students enjoyed their one week break over Easter 2005, academic staff from the respective mining schools at the University of Queensland, Western Australia School of Mines (Curtin University) and the University of NSW met under the newly formed banner of Mining Education Australia (MEA).

The academics finalised agreement on the format of the new undergraduate program that will be simultaneously introduced at all three campuses starting in 2007.

The new program will offer the latest in education so graduates will be capable of meeting the increasing demands of a booming industry that is continually striving to meet the various needs of the global community.

The program will combine the resources at all three institutions to deliver high quality courses.

Leading up to 2007, the academics will be collaborating on the development of the new courses not only in terms of content but also alternate delivery methods, assessment and means of promoting student interaction between the three campuses.
