Assessment - Submissions
Assignments are in most instances required
to be submitted in hardcopy/paper form. In some
instances they
may be required to be submitted
electronically.
Whenever
submitting material for assessment, the student must
comply with the following conditions.
Submissions: hardcopy/paper
- Unless otherwise stated all hardcopy assignments are
to be submitted via the School Office Assignment submission
box adjacent to Rm 158, First Floor, Old Main Building.
- All material
must be submitted no later than on the date specified
for submission and before 4:00pm, the default final submission
time,
unless an earlier time has been specified. Submissions
made
before
4:00pm
will
be date
stamped
according to the
date submitted.
Any submission made after 4:00pm will be date stamped
according to the next working day. The date stamp will
be the official record of the submission date.
- Each submission should be suitably
bound and have an appropriate cover sheet. The cover sheet should
state the student's name, student number,
name of assignment, course
code, lecturer, submission
due
date and
total number of pages including the cover sheet. There are separate cover sheets for individual and team-based assignments.
- It is recommended that students retain a copy of the material for their
own records.
- If a CD is included in the submission then the student should ensure that
it is firmly attached to the submission.
- Whenever appropriate,
material that is submitted in the form of a report should be prepared to a suitable
professional standard
including that it be typed and appropriately formatted.
Reports must conform to the Report Writing
for Mining Engineers as well as the Guide
to Authors by the AusIMM. All references should
be cited using the Harvard convention detailed in the Guide
to Authors.
Submissions: electronic

tool will be available within the appropriate course folder in
Vista.
- The submission tool will automatically date stamp each submission.
