Calendar of Postgraduate Courses

The School of Mining Engineering offers a number of courses each year for people in the mining industry. These are generally structured as one-week short courses to facilitate people who may otherwise have a full-time position at a mining operation and/or who may reside outside of Sydney.

The schedules of courses for the current/forthcoming academic year are:

Each course contributes towards the requirement of one or more postgraduate programs such as the

  • Graduate Certificate,
  • Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering, and
  • Masters degree.

Information on each of the courses and programs can be found at postgraduate degree programs.

People may also enrol in one or more courses on a non-award basis if they have an interest in the subject or as part of meeting their requirements of Continuing Professional Development.

To apply to enrol in any individual course or in a postgraduate program, or to obtain further information, contact either David Laurence or Postgraduate Co-ordinator.

Generally the duration of each short course is five (5) days (Monday to Friday) except Coal Mine Strata Control which is normally of four (4) days duration.
